What's this PICO-8 thing?
Well pal, PICO-8 is a fun, interactive and easy-to-learn retro "fantasy console" where you can create your own games. We'll be buildling these after an evening of workshops and a full-day Game Jam.
What's a Game Jam anyway?
An opportunity to meet and collaborate with incredible people who share your interest in games.

What do I need to bring with me?
Your bad self, and your own laptop to work on PICO-8 will run on pretty much any (Windows/Mac/Linux) machine. When you're done you can save your game as a web page so friends, enemies and random strangers can play it.
This event is your bag, baby if:
- You want to aid in the creation of an original video game for a wonderful cause
- You want to learn and collaborate
- You want to meet like-minded people
- You're into building things

To top it all off, the games we make from the Jam will be shown off and compete for prizes at an upcomming Offworld Arcade Evening of Electronic Amusements!
This event is a benefit for DAPCEP, the Detroit Area Pre-College Engineering Program, which has been offering science, technology, engineering, math, and medical educational programs to underrepresented youth for over 40 years.
A portion of each registration goes to support DAPCEP programs.
